Just back from a break in Gibraltar to an unpleasant surprise on the doormat.Driving back from the match on Friday night / Saturday morning I was clocked on the M1 at 1.15am doing 46 mph in a 40mph 'reduced speed' section - they're installing one of those Emergency Sections.Intention to Prosecute. The photo shows just one car anywhere to be seen - mine. The police rubbing their hand together with my heinous crime. As if the loss wasn't bad enough I get this kick in the bollox.
There are plenty of people who think that all the cameras are not working all of the time.

I have admitted my guilt online to the police tonight. The M1 must have had four / five sections on the new emergency section between Doncaster and Luton - I have made one very minor misjudgement.Clean licence, 46 in a 40 with no other cars or workers anywhere to be seen at 1.15am ffs - as shown on the photo.Hardly the crime of the century.

I stayed in Leicester that night, travelled from the game.I thought I was gonna zip down there at that time, 50 zones on M1 most of the way, & a practice rolling road block to boot as well, was buzzing. Can't remember a 40 zone, hope I've not got mail waiting for me....
Isn't it the old 10% rule on speedos or is that just a fairy story
A few years ago I had one of those TomTom satnavs.I noticed that the speed shown on it was always two mph slower than what was shown on my car speedometer.I also have a fixed camera warning device and that also showed two mph less than what was shown on the car.I have always wondered whether cars today show two mph more than I am actually travelling at to discourage speeding.

My speed awareness course a few years ago was at the New York Stadium. For a Rovers fan that was also a low blow I thought. I took my punishment and moved on of course. I still haven’t seen a match there!
I got done at at 80 going to the Crewe away leg. 1mph over the W Yorks prosecution threshold.Doing my speed awareness course online in a couple of weeks' time.
