What’s that say about Senior?

Not a lot really I doubt he would have signed him without the injury to Maxwell. Said he wants competition in all places. Senior had a very good game Tuesday night to be fair to him

Has Senior picked up a knock?

Also, does this mean the forward is still coming in, or is that now off?

Thought GM was after a striker/forward, if this is a season long loan does that mean Maxwell will be out for longer than 3 months?

I am guessing that if Maxwell is fit by Christmas then, as with most season long loans,  there is a review clause in January where the loan can be ended if seen appropriate.

But as Mush says, there is no messing about is there  :scarf:

I thought it would be Sellars-Fleming the striker from Hull so this is a weird coincidence.

Can’t have Senior as the only left back till Xmas as he is injury prone too.

Brandon Fleming’s last 3 loans have been at League One level so you think he’d have the ability to be our first choice.

Maxwell is likely to be out 3 months therefore End of. November Early December he could be back.
Fleming is 24 years old he not played many games at football league level over a few seasons but he will give competition and cover at Left back.
We ask our fullbacks to work up and down every match. All three of our own remaining fullbacks have had injury problems last season so it’s a good call.
Whether we bring in another forward we will have to wait and see

Wasn’t expecting this. I would imagine this is a bit of insurance cover.

Just seen his interview. Crikey, I thought he was going to cry when he started to describe how tough the last couple of years have been for him.

Did he play in the pre season friendly?

Fair play to all involved in sorting this so soon, can only think our last few managers will be looking at this sort of financial support thinking if only

Flemmings left hand rule obviously applies - he will be some force to give us direction on the field

Got to sit back and look at how much Terry Bramhall is backing G M and say he means business. Most managers will be looking at us and wishing they had the same. Not only have they stood by GM last season when the aim was promotion and at the turn of the year we was not far off the relegation zone. A fair few chairman / owners would of panicked and made a change. Not Terry he got rid of Blunt backed Grant some more and it almost payed off.
In fact it did pay off big time. It brought the fans back together and that alone is worth more than a promotion. Terry could well end up been up there with JR as one of our best owners. Although there has been a few dark season over the last 5 or 6 when you look what he has had to deal with then I think I now understand why silent majority, Martin always said we was lucky to have him. He will fund us back to the championship imo and may even have a pop going further. Shrewd signings and keeping Better players we will sign on our way you just never know.  So thank you Terry Bramhall have brought us back together as fans and given us a manager/staff/players to really get behind and be proud of.

Not taking any chances is he.
Keeping all bases covered. 2 players for every position.

Well done TB the backing GM is getting is quite something.
Would be interested to see what the wage bill is this season.
Think ours will be top 3/4 this season. Well it must be now surely.

Yes, we are lucky to have him. If it wasn't for Terry and Watson we would never have made it to the championship.

However, just a little investment a couple of season back would have kept us in league one. Except for the last 12 months, it's been really hard to see positives for a long time. It was the lies coming out of the club about the budget, yet the calibre of players signed, we could see that wasn't the case.

Anyway Newport Saturday, couple of seasons, ago, i wouldn't have gone to the Eco.

Sounds like Mr Fleming likes to get forward, played for Hull in there Lg1 promotion season, played in championship, loaned to lge1 (Oxford/Shrewsbury)
Not a bad back up eh?
Thank you TB and GB, cannot believe the change around in how this club is being run, the focus on field the clear funds, which SM alluded to we’re getting a bit close to the max re the rules….
Let’s batter Newport…

Boy oh Boy,I've already had a crafty wager on us at 14/1,but now im goner keep putting all my free bet winnings on us,4/5 for a top 7 finish looks a safe bet, with TB backing,DB removed and GM + CB and their team at the helm of the footballing side of things the stars are all aligned for a mother of all seasons.

We ain't messing around. Love it. Multiple quality players in each position, and if one gets injured, then we get another in. You can feel from within the club that anything less than 1st place in a failure.

Huge credit to the board for backing GM too

Agree Spain. How on Earth are we complying with Financial Fair Play...???

Either something we are unaware of is going on, or, we are going to get some very bad news one day.

It's easy to think we're spending alot more money but that might not necessarily be the case.

A combination of things means we are making the most of the budget, with far less going down the toilet. The injuries are far fewer, the recruitment appear to be better choices although we're still picking up players from National league level, or reserve level. Youngsters with potential that seem to be thriving rather than swimming against the tide.

Yes, TB has increased the budget in the last two seasons but not exponentially. It's just being spent more wisely.

I have to say does this signing mean GM hasn't got faith in Senior? Nixon came on and played well after Maxwell went off, yes I know he's right back cover but he wasn't too shabby at Left back so could provide competition/cover at left.
I know GM says he wants 2 players for each position but what happens when Max is fit again? Ah well that's why GM manages a professional football club and I don't

Sorry Baz. I don't understand how fewer injuries can make a significant difference to how much the clubs' spends. We're not bringing in emergency replacements - possibly excepting today  - so our cost base today is not reflecting spend on injury related playing staff.

Cheers!

What about the other 3 defenders? Sounds like they all had stinkers.
