Not sure what previous experience he's had but it's the first time I've listened for a while & he seems better to me, certainly explaining the play better now than he did before.

I actually think he is improving. Adam was superb in my opinion and should have a career as a  commentator, not sure what he does, think someone said he works in the police force?

I think he does a good job though I still often think fondly of Bradders and his avuncular style . Sadly he and his wife were killed in a road accident shortly after he retired from his commentary role at the club.

It would help if there were two persons as it always sounds odd with just one taking to himself!!

I was critical of Hoden when he started, but he has improved and is now entirely competent. People can’t change their voices and the delivery reflects their personality which is incapable of change. I wouldn’t swap someone with an attractive voice but inadequate professional skill, for Hoden. I think we were fortunate to have Robbie who combined the qualities, but expecting it routinely at our club is over ambitious. However, it would help Liam if he had a summariser. You would not have thought that it would difficult to find a someone from the journalists or injured footballers - Maxwell did a good job once or twice - and of course there’s Peter Catt.

Liam is definitely getting better, but it’s still somewhat dour.
Robbie was/is superb.
Can’t be done with these jobs for the boys (girls) double commentary waffle. One good commentator is fine. It seems to me, that not just in football but other sports there’s way too much talking and way too many pundits. The EFL highlights are great now, pretty much zero claptrap.
The exception being….. perhaps an injured Rovers player offering some enthusiastic insight and background about the players and tactical stuff. Danny Amos was great.

Robbie is really good. Hoden is getting better. We seem to have ditched the injured or suspended player co-commentator. That used to be excellent value.

Think Hoden leaves some bad dead air when there's just nothing being said. Current commentary style is to not just babble on and fill but he regularly leaves walking big chasms of silence. The recent problems with the live feeds makes it feel sometimes like the link has dropped out and your heart sinks.

I don't think a fan as a summariser really works, and I say that as someone who has done it. The whole point of the summariser is really to give additional or expert insight that the main commentator might not have picked up on (or articulated) because they're following where the ball is. You can do the latter to an extent, but if you're gonna have that role then they ought to have a 'qualified' view really.

Otherwise you get what happened to me at Swindon away 10 years back when the half-time whistle and Tom Biltcliffe turned to me on air and said "well, what do you think Paul Dickov will be saying to his players in that dressing room at half-time?" and I had to fight every urge to reply with "How the f*** would I know?"

Well on the odd occasions when you have done it, I think you have been excellent value! It is perhaps not a role that someone should perform too regularly though, because they may become irritating by making fairly predictable comments.
