I’ve said before, they should try a fan as a summariser, that would be interesting, or a University student or Students from Doncaster that are studying Sports Journalism, it could be offered as part of their on the job studies and cost nothing

The whole point of the summariser is really to give additional or expert insight that the main commentator might not have picked up on (or articulated) because they're following where the ball is. You can do the latter to an extent, but if you're gonna have that role then they ought to have a 'qualified' view really. Otherwise you get what happened to me at Swindon away 10 years back when the half-time whistle and Tom Biltcliffe turned to me on air and said "well, what do you think Paul Dickov will be saying to his players in that dressing room at half-time?" and I had to fight every urge to reply with "How the f*** would I know?"
