They are used all over Europe even nowadays including Scotland and Ireland. To help generate an atmosphere and to help with tifo displays. And I mean pretty much ALL of Europe.

Which country is the one and only that has a winge and a moan and a complain  :headbang: lame, sanitised, boring England fans/grounds

And don't bother coming back with but my sisters mum's brother has a cough, your vape is waiting for you

Whilst they may be 'used' all over the place it doesn't mean they are supposed to be used. They are certainly banned in Scotland and Ireland.

They don't create an atmosphere. They cause a break in play and we all stand about for 5 mins while it clears.

What a stupid post overall and an utterly dim-witted final comment to close it.

Stopping play for one on the pitch is not for debate. Of course that should happen. And of course the prat who did it is a prat. The prat who threw a firework on a pitch and a player lost his fingers is a prat.

But as a display package as a whole flags banners scarves pyros it works. And it works all over Europe except winging England

Because straight away the nannies would be out complaining they couldn't see for each half second a flag was waved, someone dared to stand up for more than 30 seconds, etc etc

And the one who thinks that acting like a prat is ok? Maybe you are the idiot throwing them? If not and you think they are idiots, why defend something that ruins a game?

Over the decades watching Rovers I have seen quite a few instances where teams have scored two goals in one or two minutes. Having the momentum and power to strike again before the other team can recover composure. Pyros certainly remove that option with the delay.
I remember in 1964 Alfie Hale scored after about 9 minutes to put us 1-0 up away at York who I think were top. The Rovers fans behind the goal threw on loads of toilet rolls which took about 5 minutes to clear. York never looked back, we lost our rhythm and they beat us 4-2 I think. I just can’t see any benefit of standing watching a pyro burning out just wanting to get on with the gams. It is even worse if the wind is carrying the smoke straight at you.

Yes , imagine Pyros when James Hayter scored his fastest hat trick ever

He got 3 goals after coming on as a Sub for Bournemouth and all in 3 minutes I think it was

One pyro after either of first 2 goals and he would have had no long standing record which will probably last forever

Some of the scenes with pyros at the big Argentinian games are spectacular. Looks phenomenal.

So are the New Year's Eve firework displays. Let's have them at football matches too, what an atmosphere they'd create!!
