Heads up that Avanti have cancelled all trains north of Preston tomorrow.

This will affect anyone who (like me) for was heading to the game up the west coast mainline.

Bloody hell Glen, sorry to hear that. How frustrating.
Why have they done this?

Yeah, share your pain. This was the only Rovers game I'd been able to wangle getting to between August and February.

The A66 is closed from Scotch corner because of snow, I’m hopeful that it might reopen before 10am.

It's lashing down with snow here this morning

Must be even worse on the A66

Doubt that match will be on

I'm booked on the Skipton to Carlisle route (via Settle) with Northern Trains and no word of cancellations for them yet.

Been raining since about 4am in Keswick. No snow here. All about volume of rain, and whether the pitch can cope, or surrounding areas flooding.

I remember twice Warwick Road area flooding so I presume they improved the flood defences

15 years or so , might be more recent the Papers carried a story of a Goldfish being found on their Pitch , and appealed for the owner to collect it

Maybe won't be quite that bad today

I’m in Keswick. It has snowed a bit but now turning to rain and it hasn’t settled. It has been hard ground all week with frosts but temperatures going way up today. Waterlogging is the only risk I think and I don’t think it’s much of a risk. In my opinion the game will be on. Only my opinion based on what I see up here and forecasts.

I remember a night game where the rain was being whipped along almost horizontally

I had a ticket c/o a bloke that lived there and so was in main stand. Our fans were still getting wet in the opposite Stand despite being right at the back and way beyond the corner flag

Appalling conditions and Carlisle were desperately seeking points to avoid going non league

As the game wore on the wind dropped every now and again and Leo FW scored the winner on 70 minutes. I think Carlisle had only won one of 19 games at that point

If its that bad today it will be BAD

I’m sacking it off. I have a high sided vehicle. If the A66 is shut I suspect the M62 will be extra busy and probably take ages to get across. It sounds like driving up the M6 will take us deeper into the storm.
Getting there could be an adventure but then doing the return in the dark is not worth the risk

I’ll watch it on the tv instead
I was mainly going so my lad could visit a new ground but I’ll take him next time

Safe travels to all that go

I saw it too but it looks like a lot of snow in that area.
