To be fair, it’s worth mentioning that the Hereford game was played on a ploughed field, which is always a great leveller. These days, of course, the pitch matters less than the sort of side Premiership sides put out. Last time we played Palace, they pretty much had a full strength side out - this time, it’s anyone’s guess who they’ll play.
I think it was Ronnie Radford who scored that worldie for Hereford. If my memory serves me well I think Ray Crawford scored the winner for Colchester against Leeds in the early seventies
