Definitly a red. Any time you give a referee the opportuinty to make a decision then you are always open to a red card. To do it miles away from your own goal under no threat it all is absolute stupidity, no other words for it.
Red to which player?

errrr the one that made the stupid challenge...in blue
Not the one in red who stamped on the player in blue?

Literally the only person on the planet who has managed to see Senior at no fault and their player at fault. I think I'll leave this conversation there.

Not the only one, me aswell.

1985 play on.

2025 red card.

Senior was naive. You cant challenge like that scissor motion in the modern game. I do have a little sympathy for him as he went for the ball (and got it) but youre asking for trouble going in like that.

Thank God it didnt cost us because apart from Edwards who they brought on, they were horrific.

There was a challenge earlier in the game where one of there players flew into a challenge, high foot and studs first.  Not a word from the ref.

Our Manager calls for total commitment to the cause and when one of our players shows exactly that he gets slagged off by our own supporters. Jeez !

Not changed my opinion, it wasn’t a red card, there’s an argument for a yellow because Seniors trailing leg brings him down, the highest foot was their player which involved a stamp as he tried the swivel on the ball

Ok. Seeing the replay again, that's a definite red.

He's not caught their lad with his tackling foot, but sweeping through him with his other leg is very dangerous. Could easily have been a bad ankle or  knee injury.

He was overenthusiastic shall we say but it wasn't a deliberate effort to injure a player, just to win the ball.

I'm sure McCann and his teammates were sympathetic to him after the match. Many of them being sent off in similar circumstances at some point.

I think we're justified in having no sympathy with those sent off for petulance when kicking the ball away etc.

Watch the video of the sending off, and then tell me, was it a foul by Senior or a stamp by the Morecombe player.

If it had been the other way around, would the home team have received a red card or a yellow?

Also, why was Bailey given a yellow card for a high boot and then the Morecambe player with an even higher boot given nothing!!!

As technology advances, will AI replace referees and will football fans still complain that their team is hard done by?

I've just watched the incident in slow motion and the Morecambe player lunged in with a raised foot. Maybe if anyone, HE should have been the one sent off!

Good spot BB. The Morecambe lad definitely went over the ball and stamped.

It wasn’t a stamp. He was putting his foot over the ball to protect it when he saw Senior coming.

It WAS a stamp all day long. The Morecambe player stamped his left foot on Senior after he'd lost possession of the ball.

Anyone else read this as though it was written whilst stamping feet as well?

Going in for a tackle with your foot over the ball is a sending off offence. Make your mind up.

By reaction do you mean stamp. THAT was your red card right there.

I thought it was a kick whilst they were both tangled on the ground, a total sending off offence.

Yes, he kicked out at Sterry and only got a yellow.

It was the same with the big lad (elbow) for Morecambe on Tuesday. You either get no booking if the ref/lino missed it or a red if the incident is seen, both got yellows?
