Would we take him back? If street doesn’t come back and billy retires? Would he want to? Thoughts?

I don’t think Grant would touch him now, he had his chance and didn’t take his offer, that said one hell of a player for us !

Plus, it wouldn't set a good example if he were to return. In rejecting the contract, he rejected the players and the fans. Togetherness means alot in our squad. It says on the walls, It’s the We not the Me.

He couldn’t get a league one club for the season just gone.

Why.?

i have just been watching the EFL highlights from yesterday Salford were 2-1 down and brought on Adelukan who scored a class goal ------ there must be something wrong with him/his relationships with Managers for him not to start in such a vital match

I was only half watching and thought who the hell is that who scored that class goal - then on the replay I realised  :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Like mcann said after the playoff defeat, if any player didn't want to come back to try and win the league, then call your agent and leave.

Adelakun probably didn't fancy working hard and going for it.
He went for the easy ride at Salford, poor attitude that keeps him from being a championship player.

I would imagine the truth is that his agent thought he could get a better deal for him than we offered. In the end im certain that did not work out too good for him. But you take your chances and live with it. Not sure Grant would have him back. Was very dismissive of him once he had decided not to sign. Not sure he even had a firm offer from another club when he turned us down.

I would absolutely take him back, we are going to need more match winners in L1 and he falls into that bracket.

Him, Moly and Gibson would be quality options. No offence to Ennis who has improved but at the next level I don’t think we can afford unproven options off the bench.

Not the type of player we need in the group Grant has (& will) put together.
Can imagine him being too above himself personality wise to fit in here now.

That’s just nonsense. Nothing to do with not working hard. He was offered a lot of money to sign abroad which he fancied, missed the deadline we gave him, and then the other promise of a deal fell through. Shit happens.

See his goal on the weekend against Carlisle?????

Thats what he brings, and he did it for us last year.

Worth signing every day of the week.

He was great and has had another good season, but now we're in L1 armed with a L1 budget, is there someone else who'd potentially be a better investment?

Didn't want to take up the challenge, thought he was too good for Rovers. He had his chance, he misses out.

Different class player at the league two level, I think the way his mind works is 2-3 moves ahead of others. He would definitely work in league one, not sure why it didn’t before.
He worked in a way that I imagine Billy does for the club, he raises levels, expects and demands more.

Not sure he burnt any bridges to my knowledge, I assume he was offered a deal and turned it down ( obviously you can do that in a good or bad way, not sure why you would do it in an unprofessional manner though)
I could see the possibility of Salford paying him more than we did too.

Is fitness an issue though, he really struggled towards the end, he did run his boots off though, and he hasn’t had a full season with Salford either.

Mcann has a way of getting the most out of these players -Wilkes another in that line, although I know that Grant had to treat him differently to the rest of the team, not sure the current squad with their close knit nature would appreciate that.

Think he struggled towards the end of the season as he was fasting

If he ever did come back, under no circumstances should he ever be trusted again with a penalty.

could the same be aimed towards olowu?, he's turned down the first deal, the club have gone back with a better offer.  With haks and biggo, it was a one shot deal, no and you are gone.  Maybe the character of jo is what deserving of a 2nd offer just as important as the skill level?

with haks he was reported to be on 8k a week at Lincoln if rovers offered him 3k he was bound to see if he could get more elsewhere with the form he finished the season on

I’d have him back. He’s a match winner. Ok hit the form of his life with us that’s unlikely to be repeated but he’ll always have threat. Only snag for me is he never went to L1 last season. We have a bigger market to shop in now.

Probably demanded wages exceeding league 2 teams budget. In the end probably was left getting an okay deal at Salford but probably not what he expected. I'd guess probably what we offered him or similar

Salford are decent payers. He’ll be doing ok there.

The club is going to get some serious investment now Becks and Neville. It is said they want to do a Wrexham.
