Not sure what happened to Sterry but looked like his shoulder had been dislocated yet again.

I didn't see any Rolls Royces out there today. It was a typical 1st game of the season, cagey, clinical performance.
O’Riordan may have defended tolerably well against a weak attack, but his passing was 95% sideways; he rarely came over the halfway line or ran with the ball even if there was space in front of him.

It was pretty clear on Rovers+. There was a dent in his face and his eye was swollen. You'd imagine a few months out and coming back wearing a mask.

You'd imagine a few months out and coming back wearing a mask.I’m a retired oral surgeon. If the fracture is uncomplicated and can be re-set in the correct position, it was 6 weeks out in my day. I have noticed that players are now coming back earlier with a mask.If it’s an unstable re-set and needs plates to fix, that might take a couple of weeks longer.A cheek bone (zygomatic) fracture involves the orbital floor and you don’t want to take chances.

There were positives in the team’s performance of course, but this comment was specific to one player and I recognise that I may be in a minority.
Nice cameo from Ajayi, hope he can build on it.
Agreed. I thought Pearson looked a bit leggy and a few cobwebs here and there but hey, three points and we're up and running.Great to have the football back. Here's hoping for another great season. RTID
