Home ticket sales for Rotherham have noticeably picked up today. Now seem to be headed for a bumper crowd.

Rotherham still not sold out there end

At present we have sold 2,274 tickets for our South Yorkshire derby with Doncaster Rovers this weekend.

Not great is it.

I think it’s reasonable to be fair, with 3 days to go they should push beyond 2700. Would we take many more? Doubt it

I don’t think they’ll sell 500 more.

Possibly not, but we aren’t really in a position of strength to judge when the home end will probably be 20% empty

To be fair, you brought 1800 to us on a Saturday in August 4 seasons ago. We seem to be in a similar state now to what you were back then. We’re a shambles behind the scenes, crap on the pitch and our away record for the last 3 seasons has been terrible.

Think you’ll do us Saturday although I was pleased to see Molyneux an injury doubt

Of the areas currently available to buy in. There’s at least another 1500 odd in other blocks that could be sold.

After our defences mainly free ride at Accrington they will come up against a different animal on Saturday if the pre season game I saw at Harrogate is anything to go by.
If the Rotherham forwards get the service from a not great mid field or defence they can do some damage, especially Hugill if he gets one on one with our defenders he is quick and strong  and they have real pace down the right flank who get the ball in early.
They didn't however look that great in midfield or at the back and looked vulnerable to players taking them on, it will be interesting if they play the same as in that game as most lower division side are stronger defensively than in attack.

Good post, Miller. I was there that day 4 seasons ago. I said to all the Rovers fans around me that this was the worst Rovers team in more than 20 years, and that we'd be relegated. They all looked at me gone out.

You won 2-0, but if it hadn't have been for the red card you got, you'd have thrashed us by more, which you did do at the Keepmoat, 6-0 in the p*sspot cup, and 5-0 in the league.

Thank God things are better now for us, with a good chairman owner, and GM as manager. We're doing well, but it will still be a tight game on Saturday.

All part of supporting clubs like ours. Late 2000’s I was jealous of you in your new ground and Championship football. The tables turned a few years later for a decade or so and now it looks like they’re turning back again. I’m sure in another few years we’ll get back on top and the cycle will keep repeating.

I think Sterry is an excellent fullback but you have to say he’s got his work cut out winning his place back, as Nixon has been terrific. Good problems to have.

If LM is fit to play I'd bling Sterry back. Jamie brings the best out of Luke. If we are having to shuffle the deck, I'd keep Nixon in and play Middleton in the LM role and Gibbo on the left.
Have you got your fingers on the wrong way round, Rob? You obviously mean Gibbo on the right. And why bling Sterry - is he not a star already?

;-)

No, I mean Middleton on the right and Gibbo on the left. Middleton played right side in the friendly vs Gateshead to very good effect.

Looks like a consensus on the midfield of Close, Broadbent and Bailey. Back 4 should be Maxwell, Pearson, O’R & Nixon imo. Sterry can come in from the bench. Forward line picks itself depending on fitness.

Just hope we get on the score sheet early ish. Can see us controlling the game not putting away chances and getting sucker punched

Yeah totally agree think we played Matt Smith (in all effects a dwarf) up front on his own and lumped the ball skywards for him. Wow forgotten how bad we were

Wait until you see us Saturday. Awful keeper, defence can’t defend, midfield can’t tackle and 1 goal in 4 away games this season (from a wing back).

We do seem in a similar position now to what you were back then. A clueless board, an inexperienced manager and a really poor side. You've turned it round in a few years so hopefully we can too.

Ah yes, just extended the block on the East where there's normally the banner over the seats.

Still the blocks on the north west in reserve with a further 800ish if necessary.

I think we're looking at over 9k home tickets sold so far. Might reach 10k if the  847 are taken up...but maybe a bit late now.

Should be 12 to 13k assuming Rotherham have sold their full allocation.

Probably, I think I overestimated for the Wycombe game too. Just a 500 increase  on home support is a bit disappointing even given the early ko for TV.

Miller, I'll start by saying that I hate your club with every fibre in my body, it's only natural with us only being 12 miles apart and I'm seeing a lot of shit banter about who is the bigger club.
Begrudgingly ill admit that yous have been better and bigger than us over the 40 years that I've been a Rover.

I've seen some horrendous results and performances dished out by your lot.

On a club/town/city potential growth debate then I would say that we have more potential to grow, it just needs someone with deep pockets and a vision to get us there and keep us there.
