He offers us nothing, we’re in the desperate mess at the bottom of the league, and McCann brings his amateur footballer son in to our club. McCann was out for number one when the snake crawled off last time, now his priority is jobs for his kids, not dragging us out of the mess he’s got us in to. It's disgraceful in my opinion. What if he's a decent player? He’s played a few games in national league north. He might become a decent player, but he’s not a young lad, and he’s nothing like the level of a league footballer at the moment so I’d bet against it. My point is, if his name wasn’t McCann we wouldn’t have signed him. If we’d have plucked some unknown random from national league north there would have been mayhem, but Grant signs his son and that’s all ok? It’s not for me. Our club should be protected from corruption and favouritism. Appreciate this is a forum to air your views but i find your post offensive! Its full of bias, assumption and slanderous suggestion. If the manager believes his son has the potential to be successful then i would rather him be successful with us than Barnsley. I've got no issue with the father/son thing, I do have a two concerns though.1; will the pressure of being the mangers son be too much for Bayley to overcome? 2; if he's a player with potential, why did Barnsley let him go?

I think Robinson could be a good signing for us. Obviously not the finished article but was highly thought of at Derby a few seasons back. You can’t win really, if we’d have loaned a young player from the league above people would be raging that it’s another loan we are developing for a team above.Welcome to the club lads

I think it’s fair to question the nepotism of McCann signing his son. If he was good enough why hasn’t he been signed by any other league 1 or league 2 team? Looks suspicious at best.

It’ll be interesting if he doesn’t make it and Grant has to let him go ! That would make it a very interesting conversation in their household over a Friday night supper !!!!

Or were they all world class players within world class youth setups Not a fair comparison is it! We are fishing in a different pond, looking to develop youth into league 1/championship level.

Wellens lad is doing well under his dad.
McCann is the project and goes to Alfreton on loan.
Feels like the deal was done because Conor Hourihane was due to release him at the end of the season. Remembers seeing him play in the cup game at Barnsley, he played well. S
