Their current league position isn’t too shoddy.

Lincoln are a very very well run club, think their ceo used to work for Rovers.
Be nice if he came back to sort us out.

Why? We're pretty well run overall in the last couple of years, that's a ridiculous statement.  On and off the pitch the last two years have been a huge step forward.

We've made a fair choice not to spend huge sums for the very rare occurrence of cold weather. I'm fine with that. We don't have that many games called off at all and when it's this cold I don't enjoy being out in it all that much either.

I popped outside yesterday afternoon and there was ice in the back garden, it seamt quite obvious to me a game today was less than likely.

Far better run than we are, I keep an eye on them because I admire how well they are run, as a club of similar size

Lincoln reported losses of around £3m in the last reported financial season 2023-24 - same as Rovers. In what way are they better run?

Just have a look at their website, social media, transfer business, ambition, all superior to Rovers

Hope no-one's been waiting for this epic comeback.

They are not a similar size. When their new stadium is complete, you'll see their attendances at least double.

Double? No chance. They are still trying to shift tickets for today’s game.

Well we'll have to wait and see on that one but the general point I'm suggesting is the limitations on their ground masks their size and potential. They are another step up from us at least and I think will be pushing 15 to 20k or more when doing well.

Went to school in Lincoln and this won't be the case, loads of people from Lincoln support the likes of Forest and even Leeds as they are bigger teams and play at a higher level even the younger generations of these families don't have much interest in Lincoln they'd probably be described as more followers than fans they'll never consistently sell out 15/20k a week

Better to postpone early like we did rather than 20mins before kick off, as Hull city did today!! Apparently the teams were warming up and crowd ready for kick off when they postponed it!! Vs Watford as well - long journey home after no game!!

They are a better run business because they have a better website and twitter feed!!! That's why internet scams are so successful because some people only see a glossy facade rather than looking into what is going on behind it.

And they have undersoil heating at the KCom - did someone forget to turn it on!

The pitch was fine, it was areas surrounding the pitch that were still a potential risk to the players!

Meanwhile in 'merica they're happily playing NFL in ice and blizzards. Players playing a physical sport AND stadiums full of fans. They just get on with it. We really are a soft lazy pathetic bunch in this country

Surely you understand that certain countries have ability to deal with certain weather conditions as that is what they always have on a regular basis and its a worthwhile investment to have the tools and equipment to allow the country to deal with it. America and Canada regularly deal with heavy snow across the winter, during the summer months they also have tornadoes and hurricanes etc.

In the UK, we don't have snow every week aside from a few odd weeks around winter and its not worthwhile at all. The same reason why a lot of houses here don't have air conditioning units as extremely hot weather for extremely long periods rarely happens.

Absolutely zero point in a club of our size investing in under soil heating, i would rather us put the cost towards the playing squad and have the odd 1 or 2 games called off.

and the ball spends basically zero time on the ground, and all the players wear body armour.

Otherwise directly comparable, obviously.

I would say it’s currently highly likely the Southampton game is in doubt

I’ve just been looking at the BBC weather map and apart from tonight and until 9.00 it’s going to be above freezing all through the rest of the week

There’s also warnings for snow and ice all week through Saturday. It’s not going to warm up enough to thaw significantly. Could be wrong but suspect it will be postponed

You seem to be looking at a different forecast than me, hardly going to get to freezing all week and the snow if it comes is going to light showers

It's the ground temperature which is likely to be a problem for the pitch.
