I don’t know In the box.
He joined Ipswich in 2023 but I don’t know how long his contract was.

He’s a Republic of Ireland U21 international

My guess would be it’s a permanent.

Pretty sure he can play right across the frontline.

His signing could lead to matches being called off due international call ups if you add him to Grehan, Robinson and McCann Jnr

Right footed so imagine he’ll be playing left wing competing with Haks.

Was expecting more of a statement signing in that position. But you never know he could be a world beater!

Whether this was intentional or not, they’ve made a mess of communicating the first signing if it wasn’t clear straight away whether this was loan or permanent, and how long any deal was for.

Hodez would never have allowed that!

Interesting signing, sounds a bit further down the road than Adjayi from last season, i'd rather we bring in players of this ilk than the premiership youngsters who are basically just that, youngsters and completely raw to men's football.

You'd like to think he will be some sort of  competition for a place rather than just a development player.

This still means we need some absolute starters for next season, one or two potential players is fine but we need the spine sorting out and being no nonsense first team players.

Keeper, centre half, creative midfielder and lethal striker!, we don't want much!

Definately will keep our wingers on their toes, good enough, potential, plus he will be hungry. Keeps them all keen, rather have this guy than middleton and gibson all day long.

My thoughts exactly, mpc.

We’ll know better when we’ve seen him perform but the telling thing coming out of Grant’s interview was that he’s good on the press. To me, if that is right, it’s an improvement on all 3 left sided players we had last season. It just might Adelakun work that bit harder!

https://youtu.be/SBGklB3oXp8 McCann's thoughts. If you had "can play anywhere across the front three" on your interview bingo card, I have good news...

How many times has that been said and how many times has it been true. A lot and rarely.

On a side note, If Ireland have an international I can see us having a few rearranged games next season.

Hodez would never have allowed that!

Very poorly communicated, and how come Shaun Lockwood is doing the interviews?
What's happened to that new woman they appointed as communications manager?
The picture of him sitting underneath that shirt is not great either.

We got pretty good with media about a year ago. That David guy who did the vlogs was a natural on camera and you could see he had a good relationship with players and was a really good content creator for socials. Hoden was good in the pre and post-match interviews and although it didn't seem quite as natural for him, the Coffee With's were still a good feature.

Now they've both left on their own accord? Have we stripped budget? Why is the marketing head Lockwood doing the interviews? Tbf the girl who did the McCann interview didn't sound great and I thought she would struggle with post-matches when emotions are higher.

Can't be getting slack on social media and marketing. Important part of business and not that hard to get right.

They have not yet appointed a replacement for Liam ( understand that will be 1/7 ) ,meanwhile, Holly from the Media team is being given the opportunity to gain experience. We have the same attitude with off field staff of helping the younger generation.

Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I’m more interested in how the players perform on the pitch, than how the club communicates or uses social media..

My first thought when hearing Shaun was maybe someone's on holiday for him to step in. But, the most important thing is who's on the other side of the camera and answering the questions. The players should be the stars!

My main concern is that we struggled last year because our wingers failed to produce goals, which is vital within grants system.
This lads only appearances have been in the national league, Rochdale 27 with 2 goals and boreham wood 13 with 2 goals.
I get we have to think about building a team with the future in mind, but are we really thinking this lad will cope with L1 and produce goals from these wide positions?

Disagree with this.  The players are the stars of course but footballers can't be expected to be great speakers and often aren't.  Interviewing is a skill and a two-way interaction, the very least that is needed is that the person asking the questions is competent otherwise the whole thing becomes a farce regardless of how well the player speaks.

Done a bit of research, looked at the numbers and watched a lot of video since he signed.

I certainly think he's a profile with potential. Certainly needs to keep developing but there is some raw material there.

Few notes in short...

Positives-

Decent body language and has a bit of intensity about him.
Decent off the ball defensively.
Good at traveling with the ball (needs to do it more).
I think he could be a goal threat, gets into positions to get shots away.
Decent pace.

Negatives-

Quality of the final ball needs to improve.
Quality in possession needs to improve (a lot).
Released by Ipswich who are unlikely to let a huge potential talent leave for nothing. Their judgment of players is the best in the EFL.
Only 1800 mins in the NL. Likely will need a couple of seasons to develop, so tough (but not impossible) to make a huge impact in his first go at L1.

As I said previously, a player with good potential to develop around the first team environment. More likely to be a high shot volume goal threat than a creator with class and guile. Trying to get him in positions to highlight his strength will be more more valuable than trying to turn him into a winger that tries to unpick locks.

Is it just my computer or is there no news about our latest signing on the front page of the the club website?
It's all about the picnic on the pitch and nothing about Ayinde unless you click on more news.
All a bit of a shambles at the moment.
