Season tickets
« on February 27, 2010, 12:12:38 pm by washyrover »
Week on week the crowds are about the same apart from big games, their are not many turn up on the day fans so we need to increase season ticket holders. The plan could be to reduce cat b to cat c as how do you get new season ticket holders when all the cheaper tickets have gone and interest free for season tickets.

I find it very strange we aren't selling season tickets for next year already. Alot of other clubs are doing it.

We need more cat c seats so we can gain more season ticket holders simple as that.

Looking at those prices my £360 Cat B ST becomes £380, and my 13 year olds £60 becomes £95, if we buy before 1st April. Thats a £55 increase for us two. Quite an increase.

Thanks but no thanks.

I was struggling to justify a season ticket next year with prices as they are now. Looking at that I really am going to have to think long and hard as to whether I can afford it. There is no way (and I assume I speak for a lot of people here) I can afford to fork out that kind of money this month in order to get it at the lower price.

Looking at this I can only assume the match day price next season will be increasing by quite a lot as well? As I work shifts I generally miss 3-4 games a season anyway, looks like I may have to pick and choose my games next season.

Absolute joke. The release the prices a day beofre they go on sale with significant price increases. If you don't buy BEFORE April you have to pay even more.

Like someone has said, thanks but no thanks. I can't afford it, simple as. And after speaking to another season ticket holder on the phone while reading this, there are several others who wont be renewing.

Well done DRFC.

Looking at that, the thing that sticks out is that category C only exists until March 31st. And even then only to existing cat C holders. For those who can't afford to renew this month the increase is huge! I say this as a cat B holder myself, so this doesn't affect me.

And even then for cat C there is an initial increase of £70. If you renew after June, its getting for double the cost it was this season!

Who the hell thought this up??

Serious consideration whether to renew at those increases, looks like a further 2 less season ticket holders next year.

In a time of financial hardship, you would expect a decrease or some kind of offer to entice more supporters. Not this joke of a scheme sprung on supporters the day before they go on sale, giving them a month to renew at prices which are already significantly higher than the previous season.

Did the muppets who actually thought this up think about the fans at all? Or is it a case of the board won't be plugging the gap any more so ticket prices have to increase?

What a complete utter joke - the club treat us like shite, how can they justify those kind of increases? How can they give fans just 31 days to get the money together before they hike the prices up.

I simply cant justify/afford spending that a large chunk of my disposable salary on an ST.
I cant see many being sold to be honest. Crowds dwindle further.

The prices are already hiked up, even if you can get the money together in March.
Final straw for me i'm afraid. I can't afford it. I'll have to pick and choose the games I want to attend next season. I hope the board don't go crying when the average is only 8000 next year.

I'm guessing that they will use the argument that we haven't had price rises since we have been in the CCC, which is fair enough, but the fecking economy is on its knees, now is not the right time to be increasing them. Crowds are down this season, they will be even worse next season - what happens if the unthinkable happens and we get relegated? To get mine at a reasonable price now, I will have to buy before end of March - am I going to be paying a stupid amount for L1 football?

Whoever thought up this pricing structure, and whoever thought that giving fans so little notice is reasonable, wants a fecking rocket up their arse, its disgusting.

2 spare seats will be available in the South West corner Cat B section.
I won't be renewing either mine or my lads (he's 19) season tickets.
We've always bought one and miss the begining and the end of the season as we both play cricket.
I'll buy a ticket and attend as when I want to.

I think the club have scored a massive own goal here. Someone said they'd be lucky to sell 5000. I'd go further and it will be a lot less than that. People simply cannot afford it. I've had to take a £500 a year hit in my wages to keep my job. And the saving in my families budget will come from me not buying a season ticket, and the savings in fuel, ale and food whilst going to games. I will pick and choose mine also. As will many, many more. People will inevitably vote with their feet.

Look forward to a great summer guys.

Season ticket sales down 70% in my opinion. Kiss goodbye to the glimmer of hope we had of signing the likes of Sharp or Shackell. Say goodbye to Stock, Woods et al.

A suicide decision from DRFC in my opinion and one that will backfire.

Why not decrease the tickets by the same margins and get more bums on seats? Surely a better option?

I had my letter from work on Saturday informing me that my salary will increase by 1% in line with inflation. As much as I love attending the games I'll have to pick and choose which ones I watch next season.
Unfortunately I think the Club have made a big mistake............
