Well, my first ever match, and apart from the loss, was cracking! Beautiful day, we met up with Berkshire, and Gareth who kindly gave me a Donny scarf! :-) Saw David James. which was kind of exciting except he moved(!!) the ball to get a better angle on a kick!!! #$%%^^&**(( Nice.Saw Woods and thought he did a very good job, and happy he has signed a 2-year contract. But, Cussy, where were you mate?? I had reconnaissance do a quick sweep of the stadium and nowt!! Sadly, my Rovers kit had not arrived yet, but I was probably the only one with sunglasses on! ;-) Any hoo, many thanks to my Coal Hole mates for a great day out!!
We're actually going to sacrifice Berkshire on Thursday night Cussie (see other thread). We figure Sandy Lane must have a gun given she's American, so it should be straightforward.Weller (and Rick Buckler I think) was brought up on a council estate called Sheerwater which they built just after the war specifically to ship loads of folk from Paddington who'd been bombed out. Generations have stayed on the estate and so they all still sound like Londoners (as does Weller of course) and they tend to be QPR/Fulham/Brentford/Chelsea fans.PW now lives in a village about 5 miles outside Woking called Ripley. Eric Clapton actually lives in the same village but I don't think they have any interaction as such. These and other interesting stories can be found in my book retailing at all good bookshops blah blah blah...

I know someone who knew Weller as an apprentice brickie. An absolute beginner he was. He worked regular nights on the Stockwell Tube modernisation. Always down the tube station at midnight. The boy loved his tools though and had pet names for all of them. His favourite was his trowel called malice
