It was said by a poster at the end of the season he was available to play but left out by PD, money talks but maybe does not want to stay with PD.

So one of the contracted players looks like going is this just the start.

f**king hell, has the ability to rip up league 1. Hope we get a good fee.

Don't think Dickov used him well.

The budget will be ok but I doubt if they will pay over the odds just appease any player who over values his worth  when there are hundreds to choose from . Duffy a good player but In league 1 it's a strong squad rather than 1 or 2 good individuals who help win games.

The only positive I could think of is that we would get a fee, wow.

How many of the contracted players have clauses that maybe allow them to leave for free?

Why pay a substantial fee and risk losing for free a year later. We are a joke at times. I though Gavin was smarter than that. Pathetic if true.

If we paid a fee and then let him leave for nothing it's very poor that's for sure.

I knew he wasn't going to stay,he wasn't happy with being used as a bit part player but I have to admit I didn't realise he could leave for nothing...That is ridiculous on our part...

More than likely he wouldn't have signed without the clause. Catch 22.

It's shocking who ever put that in their contracts, so we could lose every player bar 2, how long do these clauses last for

Then we should have looked elsewhere for me, too risky that especially going up with a limited squad as the majority of us knew.

PD gives a list to GB of players he would like ( Choice 1, Choice 2 Choice 3 ) for whatever positions he feels need strengthening. Its then up to GB to recruit said player within budget. So, if that clause exists ( and I don't think it will be "Able to leave on a free" ) then GB is the culprit.

Surely the clause must have been... if we don't stay in the championship

If they don't want to be here let them all go, it's that simple!

We need committed players here.

Any basis in facts that he or any other contracted player has a clause allowing them to leave for free or is this just another round of s**t stirring !!

I guess we will have the answer to that soon. It's been strongly rumoured since the end of the season though.

I knew he wasn't going to stay,he wasn't happy with being used as a bit part player

Maybe he should have performed as more than a f**king bit part player then. He showed occasional flashes, but overall, he was a big disappointment. Went missing at crucial times. If his response is to jump ship then f**k him, and Birmingham are welcome to him.
