Released list
« on May 17, 2016, 02:25:22 pm by DonnyRed1992 »
Doncaster Rovers can today confirm that Ben Askins and Matty Davies have been released. The club would like to thank them for their efforts in their time here and wish them well for the future.
Following discussions with the manager, the club can also confirm that the following players have been made available for transfer:

Dany N’Guessan

Curtis Main

Gary MacKenzie

Billy Whitehouse

Thorsten Stuckmann

Darren Ferguson has also met with Richard Chaplow and Nathan Tyson who have verbally agreed to have their relegation clauses activated in their contracts.  These must be exercised before the end of June and beginning of June respectively.

Now we have to hope someone will want them.

If all those above were to leave, i wonder how much of the budget it will free up. A few of them won't be on much.

Still think Stuckman could do a good job in L2, the rest I hope we can shift.

Too few for me. If we line up with ATS on the first day of the season I take everything back and believe Fergie should be sacked after those 90 minutes win, lose or draw.

Given ATS is out injured until Jan I'd be very suprised if he lines up for anyone in August!!!!!

Does this mean we are planning on offering contracts to Marosi and Mandeville who are out of contract?

Going to ask the same question. I really hope not.

I imagine the Marosi decision will depend of what type of Keeper(s) we can get in before the season kicks off. Can see him being invited to come back for pre-season on a week-to-week contract until the situation is clearer.

You'd hope having been made third choice keeper this year that he'd tell them to stick it up their arses.

Guess we will have to wait and see. Should none of them be snapped up, then I can't see many players being brought in.

Main I expect will go to Oldham, someone will come in for Stuckmann but the rest I hardly think will be in demand.

Tyson and Chaplow, does that mean they are happy to stay on reduced contracts?

I initially read it as they were staying but on reduced terms. Re reading it I think it means their contracts are being terminated.

Tyson & Chaplow can leave by the end of June for free if someone is willing to take them if not then they stay. That's how I read it.

ON what grounds could their contracts be terminated? They are not happy with the wage reduction and want to leave as their first choice.

It says they have agreed verbally to stay on reduced terms, but sign up for those terms has to be begining of june in  case and end june in other.

Having read the article in "Evening paper" which has a totally different slant on it, it seems Chaplow and Tyson are invoking "Relegation get out clauses" so away they want to go.

It means they have verbally agreed they want to leave before those dates or their contracts continue.

The more you think about it, we are in an absolute mess financially. We are going to be waiting months in most cases to move players on who are transfer listed. I'd guess by the sound of it the wage reductions for most players don't kick in until June/July. That leaves us with basically a full-wage bill for the first few months of pre-season that we can do absolutely nothing about. Then added uncertainty now with Chaplow and Tyson.

If this is going to be a pre-season of balancing the books; one player out, one player in then we are in for a really rough time of it. Unless the board are willing to put in money up front and anticipate signings in positions we are going to lose. Something they have never been good at.

Mandeville's got another year. A case with Marosi of maybe keeping options open, what with Stuckmann on the list.

Chaplow will be gone soon I imagine, someone will take him on in L1. Tyson perhaps too. We won't see any of these men in the team again, even if they end up having to stay.

No point releasing ATS even if he wanted to, the man is out until next year so nobody can sign him anyway.

Yeah, ATS might have been on that list too but with him being injured no one will take him.

I like ATS. Always reasonably priced and changed my tyres in the time frame they said.

If we line up with ATS in August, the club will get the Nobel Prize for Medicine.

Mind, some folk would still chunter at that...

No news on McCullough either? Isn't he also out of contract?
