For me,, it has to be a big fat yes as its a security risk for the country!!!!

If my mate Dave goes into the bank  wearing his crash helmet,, straight away he gets asked by staff to either take it off or leave the premises as its a security risk and they cant see his true identity?

So whats the difference with the burka???? I have no problem with the one which covers just the hair as if thats a religious thing then fair enough but covering everything but the eyes is a security risk and intimidating for others around.  I know if i wore a balaclava walking down the street covering everything but my eyes loads of people would be against it!!!!

So its a ban it for me,, and the sooner the government brings it in,, the better.

Loads of other countries have banned it so why havnt we?????????

Without a doubt its Mick but I'll give my views anyhow.

I personally would ban the Burkha, purely for secuirity reasons.  With everything that's gone off in recent years it just seems too dangerous.  Our country so it's our rules.

It's not a racist opinion either.

I think there should be a legal right to request it be removed under certain circumstances such as when in a bank or going through airport security - that may already exist in that case, I don't know - but I don't feel we need an outright ban.

Coming back from Dubai last year I watched the Burkha clad women going through passport control.
They all presented their passports but not one of them had to lift their veil so that the border control officer could see if the picture matched their faces.
Surely that has to be wrong.

As far as I am aware there have been more Islamic terrorist wearing Arsenal football shirts than there have burkas? Certainly a lot more using vehicles - maybe you should start banning things terrorists use than things they dont?

Nobody knows what a terrorist looks like end of      However if you cant see the face thats on the photo in the passport theres a problem!!!!!

Its ok saying there retina identification etc works but its not installed at airports anywhere in the bloody world, and what's the point in installing it at say Heathrow unless all airports worldwide are going to install it within a strict timescale, daft thing is fingerprint recognition identification is installed on something you all see possibly everyday

I seem to recall a case of a known male terrorist escaping from the UK dressed as a woman in a burka.
Maybe if the authorities at the airport had bothered to check under the veil they would have spotted his moustache and beard.

Laws are often introduced because of a small minority at the detriment of the vast majority. The banning of Burkas is not unique in that respect. Wearing them in certain areas aren't tolerated for the exact same reason that motor bike helmets aren't.

Now, although this may be trivial in comparison, it still compares. I like a pint while watching Rovers. Unfortunately, because of a handful of knuckle-scrapers who get pissed and turn into heavyweight champions of the world,  I'm banned from drinking along with them. Like thousands of others, I've never caused trouble in my life, but we are forced by law to make a sacrifice.

Now here's a question. How many of the shandy drinking, Lily livered, mamby-pamby, powder puff, do-gooder, snowflake Jessies on this forum think that is right, but banning Burkas is wrong?
