New Kit
« on April 30, 2018, 09:16:56 am by Monkcaster_Rover »
Released our new home & away kit this morning via Twitter!

Frustrating post this as I'm not sure how to do provide a link but the home kit is relatively similar but the stripes are like waves. The away kit I feel will be like Marmite. I quite like it.

Don't think there's anything on the official site yet so if someone could provide a link that'd be sound!

At least it's back to the White shorts, much smarter than red.

WTF! It looks like the work of some mad art student. How hard can it be to get right?

Who ever designed the home shirt must have been pi**ed up. I quite like the away one though.

The away one's great.    Home one takes a bit forgetting used to.    At least the kits don't look like aprons

Not one to normally comment. They are what they are, but on this occasion it's a No from me. Yuck!

Still too much white on the home kit but I do quite like it. Away shirt looks like a training top but I reckon it is better than the current one.

The home kit would be fine if the hoops were horizontal .The away one is bobbins.

Bloody hell.

I say this every year, but why on earth do we feel we have to keep dicking about with hoops? Straight horizontal red and white stripes. Why is that so hard?

The away kit looks like the sort of thing a city-centre church-leader might commission for their youth group in an effort to give the impression they're cool and edgy. I bet it's got a matching baseball cap.

Good grief.

What on earth are they?

If the hoops were straight that home kit would be bang on. And if the away shirt didn't have that white stripe and weird bit around the sponsor, it would also be a cracking kit.

Why do they always have to try and overcomplicate it?

This. Hoops are our trademark now. We're the only English club that has red and white hoops. Why isn't that enough? I appreciate we have to have a new kit every year now because it's a money maker for the club but it feels like we're just fiddling with the design for the sake of it. It feels like the priority when designing the new kit is to make it look different, not to make it look good.

Looks like someone designed it last minute on the bus, and f**ked up drawing the first hoops so they had to make all the others wonky to match.

The away kit I think I could learn to like though.

Just looked at the pictures again, is it me or does Butts looks like he is holding his gut in. Might have to do that myself but I feel I might still look as if I’m smuggling a wok! 😃

No new kit will ever be ideal or suit everyone. I'm not sure about the wavy lines but I suppose it doesn't go to far away from the traditional hoops. Like this season's kit I guess I'll get used to it. I'm in the "quite like it camp" as far as the away kit is concerned.

I suppose at least it's not as bad for the eyes as the old 1990s 'TV interference' hoops were. The problem with this design is it just looks wishy-washy and indecisive to me.

Well my close season is in tatters as I see that next season’s new kit has already been revealed – I had been looking forward to the usual debate, design suggestions from fans etc.

It looks as if the designer must have lost his ruler.

And the away kit looks like a training top to me

Good news: The shorts and socks look good and can be interchanged in the event of a colour clash.

Bad news: The away shirt looks awful. Shame they didn't do some similar to this season's design with different colours. The home shirt - why the need to angle the hoops? A case of over-complicating what should be variations on a classic design (think Celtic, for example).
