I cannot believe how much stick JM gets from so called fans on here & online Facebook Twitter etc

Marquis has scored 20+ goals 2 out of the 3 seasons he’s been here & to me his value to the team will only really be appreciated once he departs & the moaners will be out in force demanding that the board get the cheque books out to get a 20+ goal scorer again - he’s received stick in the last 2 games & for me he can’t do anything when the midfield is literally supplying him with zero service. Added to his goals tally I doubt any potential future replacement will put his work rate into their game as JM puts into his - he is a proper 90 minute footballer & although granted he’s sometimes frustrating to watch I tell you with a great deal of certainty that whoever replaces him long term will find it incredibly hard to match his goals and all round game.

He also attends fans functions like meet the owners evenings etc & was at Blackpool the night when he wasn’t even eligible to play & came to applaud the fans at the final whistle on a bloody horrible cold & windy evening

One idiot even questioned how JM could even call himself a professional footballer.

Christ, does it matter HOW we get there? if we finish above 18-21 other clubs then we deserve to be in the playoff places.

I am not saying that we haven’t played poorly in some games and also had a bit of good luck.
But without doubt, Peterbro and Coventry will have done the same.
We have also had some bad luck too, the disallowed winner against Charlton for example.

Well said BR. Reading the clueless JM comments it makes me embarrassed to be a DRFC supporter. The best strikers in the world lose form, I don’t understand why we don’t support him instead of giving him dogs abuse every week.

I though it was stating the bleedin' obvious to say you don't drop a 20-goal striker two games from the end of a season in which you are still in the hunt for a play-off place.

This is not unreasonable. He has scored a lot of goals and he does work very hard, but for some time now he has not delivered. Every player goes through these spells even the very best (Copps) and nobody should be above getting some time on bench if need be.

Player stays fit, plays virtually every game and 90 minutes in each one. Has a goal return of virtually 1 in 2 and he’s getting slated. It just beggars belief.

in fairness they are all entitled to there own opinions it's not my view but some times he gets on my nerves ranting and raving at the ref then that gets him frustrated and he starts missing the goals, his work rate is phenominal but he does miss some sitters but I do like him in the main

He’s a good player and statistically he is one of if not the best we have had for many a years.... it is disappointing how much he isn’t appreciated.

If he never missed a chance or scored 35 goals a season he wouldn’t be playing for us.
 
Just appreciate him because for every John Marquis you’ve got ten Theo Robinson’s/Lewis Guys.
