Give us something to give us hope, that team today would n’t compete in L2!

Heard rumours that it will be Gary McSheffery getting the job, if so it will be a disappointing appointment imo

Never mind how the fans feel. Whoever the new manager is, can you imagine how they feel watching that today?
They must have to like a challenge.

It depends if you take the view that he's got the max out of what he had available. I'd argue he has.  From the 3 league games with the players he had he couldn't have got much more.  A good win last time out aswell.

We were never going to be able to compete with Sunderland today.
They were better in every department and quicker than us to every ball.
More experienced and more nous.
Anyone who thinks we had a chance of even getting a point today is guilty of wishful thinking.

Franz Ferdinand and Sparks? Could be the combination we need. Sparks as the experienced older heads for the DoF role.

I'm going disagree, he would have been better playing a few more experienced players today rather than 3 youth team players who for me are way off this standard at the minute, you could add a fourth with Horton if we had anyone else

No. I'm decrying your lack of sense, your lack of vision, of wisdom and of vision beyond the immediate.

I think I must be the only one that wasn't disappointed with the result.

I predicted a 4-0 win for Sunderland. Just look at the goals they got, a penalty, and own goal and open play goal.

we had a team mainly made up of boys with little experience.

The boys put all they had in to the game and I must admit I was very happy with the performance.

Its a fight till the last game but thats what football is all about.

                                              Its Mc Sheffrey for me.

I would be interested to know why you would be against new ownership?
Lack of vision? What kind of vision is that, because where I am sat there appears to be a total lack of any vision. or do you mean the often quoted 5 year plan which has been in existence for the last 10 years?

The very same Butler that watched on while Charlie Wyke nodded 4 into our Net unopposed ,last season at Stadium of Light.

I went to the game expecting nothing other than a defeat today.
I also thought it might be as many as 4-0 and when it went to three straight after the break I thought they might get six.
Three nil was a good result in the end.

Of course Anderson wasn’t culpable for any of them.

Do you mean Wright? Anderson didn't play that game.

We hadn’t a player fit to replace Blyth or Horton.
Bogle and Gardner both coming back from calf injuries so couldn’t play 90 minutes Barlow returning from Covid so he wasn’t ready for 90 minutes. There is no body else.

And we've hopefully learned not to rush players back from whats happened to Taylor and Close.

Agree with this ,was always going to be a tough ask the early goal wasn't ideal and in all honesty there was no contact it was a dive, if he'd gone half a yard further onto his outstretched leg I'd have no complaints. The 2nd goal killed us just before half time , we switched off and it's a lesson learned for the young lad was it Ravenhill ?, good finish by the Sunderland player.

When I saw the team I feared the worst and at half time I thought Sunderland would probably get 5, so to keep it down to 3 was a good result.
I felt sorry for the young kids being thrown in today and it wouldn't have happened had we not been on sky. It's a shame that we are so desperate for money that we have to give 3 points away when we are desperate for points.
It is as though we have owners with no money and are just existing.  :chair: :chair:

If they appoint McSheffrey that will tell me everything I need to know. Someone who will accept being given hardly any funds for players.
One or two players greatly underestimated what we need.
He’s done a decent job so far, but he is not the man for the job at this time. They don’t want to go out of their comfort zone if they appoint him.
The club and is the fans pay in the end.

Just one point about the game, I am fairly sure it was Horton who could have given a hat-trick of penalties away today.

Whoever gets the managers job he's got to knock it out of him................

STOP PULLING SHIRTS, PARTICULARLY IN THE BOX.

To cap it all, half my family have now gone down with the virus and we have gone in to isolation.

This virus is spreading very fast and will affect football very soon.

What is needed with all these young players who struggled against the class of the opposition is for the experienced ones to play in a mature way, hold the ball up and think about the next pass. This would show leadership, instil a bit of confidence and give time for their inexperienced team mates to take up better positions to receive the ball. There was too much thoughtless booting it upfield. But we had only Rowe in the first half and Bogle and (to give him credit for once) Gardner in the second half who provided something of an example. Sadly, Dodoo, Hiwula, and Knoyle exhibit none of the sensible qualities that ought to be part of their games.
