Quote from: Panda on September 12, 2022, 06:19:31 pmGP's allowed to close on day of the funeral. Not hospitals though. That's fair.......... Meanwhile, people are already queuing outside Westminster Hall, 48 hours early for the Queen. I wouldn't go that far for my own mum! Madness. It’s a bank holiday, Panda. How many other bank holidays do hospitals close for?

How many other bank holidays do hospitals close for?Well yeah but many hospitals, including DRI are now cancelling some appointments and non urgent surgeries. It's all about them (NHS) and not the patients.

Go preach your vendetta elsewhere

Go preach your vendetta elsewhereOn what basis do you think it is OK for a health service to cancel appointments in this frivolous manner? Do you not consider the rights and feelings of patients, some of which who will have been awaiting these appointments / operations for some time for which they are fully entitled to receive. You have a vendetta by not considering the other side of the coin. The patients perspective. Choosing only to look at the perspective of the NHS.
BST I owe you an apology, this guys whinging is on a whole different planet

Quite right, state funerals are just too damn well frivolous! Enforced jollity for all or take the whip to them, eh? PS spoken as one who has had an NHS appointment on the 19th cancelled. How dare you speak about what you think my feelings are without asking? What would someone who hides behind their autism know about others' feelings anyway?
I'm annoyed with you, not the NHS.
Thanks for expressing your feelings. I hope you are able to find ways of coming to terms with the annoyance in a way that doesn't continue to affect your health and wellbeing.

Quote from: SydneyRover on September 14, 2022, 03:12:47 amI would suggest it is a bit outdated and that many agreeing to it do not really understand it's meaning nor care and or agree because that's what is required to join the group, at age 12.''I will do my duty as a Scout, to my God, my King, and my Country. I will be loyal to the B.B.S., and will keep its laws. On my honour I will Love God; Honour the Queen; Respect all. On my honour I will, without fear or reward, protect the weak, defend the helpless, and assist my neighbour''Totally agree. Who cares about the oath? It's Scouts. Kids go to learn, develop, experience and have fun. The rest is just outdated nonsense. I have to say though that the Scout leaders are all volunteers and they do an amazing job and an amazingly generous thing by giving up their time so the kids are able to participate. They are the people who deserve the respect, not some non existent God or King who nobody has ever met.

There are also Scout Leaders who ‘generously’ give up their time in order to ‘get closer’ to children for very different reasons as do Girl Guide Leaders.
Is it? Where? I'm defending Scout leaders if you read what i posted RR. Against CCN3's rather spurious and sweeping statements levelled at Scout leaders that many are kiddy fiddlers.
