I think we should get rid of Miller and buy that tall blonde Norwegian lad that Man City have bought, but there again some on here would not be satisfied with him

He scored today

He’s scored 6 goals and got 2 assists in 11 games.
If this isn’t good enough then I’m not sure what peoples expectations were

JM was slagged to death on this forum yet the same people were aghast when we didn’t sign him mid season.
Miller is a good player but not a lone striker.

Miller is doing a good job in this league. The bigger issue though is that we are playing in the lowest professional tier and should at the very least have aspirations for the play offs in League One. We are miles away from that aspiration currently so it is hard to really rate Miller or most of the new signings, given how we are playing against some largely poor sides. I can see us getting promoted this season or at least coming close, but it’s a long road to be back challenging for League One play offs again as in 2018/19.

We can only deal with where we are. No good worrying about League 1 until we are back in League 1

Obviously we will need strengthening when we do get there if we are going to get anywhere near the top 6 in that League.
You only have to look at the zize of some of those clubs and the gates they get.

For now let’s just concentrate on promotion this season.

When you look at the fixtures we have had how many people thought we would have 20 points from 11 games. Not many.
I actually thought we would but not many on here were very optimistic.

So what is the moaning all about. We haven’t got into 4th gear yet and we are goal difference outside the play offs. Win on Tuesday and we are 4th

I really like Miller. Good attitude. Works hard. Pops up in the right places.

But I'm astonished that in 2022, a pro striker is so one-footed. The open goal yesterday is a miss for the ages, and all because he chose to use the outside of his right foot rather than his left instep.

Think he will be working on that left foot this week BST

Every pro footballer should be able to use their ‘other foot’ when they need to.

George Miller has the capabilities to be a top player at league one level. He needs to gain in confidence, experience and improve his link up play. He is a good finisher, quick enough and there is improvement to come. He missed a bad one but still scored a goal. He won’t worry about that one.

A bit ironic, last week some was bemoaning that he needs to take a touch before shooting instead of taking a pop first time,I think he actually had time to tee his shot up with yesterdays glaring open goal miss, but opted not to,probably due to pressure to shoot first time and ended up snapping at it.Mind you,if he got it right everytime,Im sure he would be higher up the league. He is a great player for us in league two and hopefully he and we will have a good season.

Good post drover.  I have seen far better players than Miller miss chances as easy as the one he missed at Rochdale.
It is just football and stuff like that happens.

I've seen plenty of easier missed chances than Miller's yesterday, quite a few from John Marquis if we're talking closer to home.

Michael McIndoe was a great player for us who scored plenty of goals despite only having a right foot to stand on.

Just watched it. Schoolboys should not be missing chances like that. He actually had more time than i thought. A quick look up, stroke it in with his left and jobs a good un. Appalling miss and not good enough for a professional footballer.

Defenders get it in the neck when they make howlers that cost goals and strikers tend to get away with it. That miss cost us a goal but overall Miller is doing excellently for us and he got the winner and rectified his miss so no harm done in the end.

Miller missed the open net, but we won the game and he scored the winning goal.

Should he have scored that... yes, but better players have missed easier chances. It came to him and he rushed to smash it at goal and made a mess of it. Atleast he came back and scored when it mattered.

He will probably be getting stick off the lads and it is something that he will take as a learning experience moving on to the next game.

3 goals in 2 games is nice to see and hope it continues on Tuesday.

Not the first he has missed trying to do the same thing with the old right foot scoop.
I cannot believe it has not been pointed out to him in the past by coaches and he has not had to work on it, he could easily be in the top two scoreres in this division  now if his left peg was not just for standing on.

The wonderful thing with Miller is he doesn’t let it bother him, which is very hard to do, in itself. We should be applauding the quality of that second goal - we’ll set up by Knoyle and a poacher’s finish.

Good strikers don’t worry about the one they just missed, they keep trying to get into position ready for the next chance.

Had a penalty saved today then missed an open goal from the keepers save yet slotted home the equaliser as Biggins played him through as he made his run, took it on & placed it past the keeper from outside the box.

There’s the sign of a real No.9. Not dwelling on the penalty but looking for another opportunity to score.

9 goals in 15 games he's been involved in this season is the sign of a real no.9.

Marquis was notoriously bad at penalties. Think we've got something in Miller.

7 in 13 league games. He’s over the crucial 0.5 goals per game metric that really marks out a decent scoring record.

Different level but this season Marquis on 2 in 11 league games and May on 3 in 10 league games.

If we could get the rest of them doing their “jobs” as well as Miller (and Mitchell for that matter) we’d be coasting!

The fact he came over to the fans and apologised for the penalty miss when he scored was brilliant. He cares. What more could we want!?

Bang on, & in a team that doesn't create a lot at all. Don't understand why he gets a bit of criticism, really good striker for this league  & will score quite a few more when DS gets us playing better & creating more chances.

Does Miller get criticised? I don’t feel like he does. There are things he can do better of course, but he seems popular. So he should be with 9 goals and counting.
