And a penalty should have been given for throwing Sharp to the ground

We’ve had absolutely everything against us today.

- A ref who definitely had a Hull bet on. How many interceptions did he make when we were on the move. Those aside, he was shocking.

- A Lino who couldn’t keep up with play first half.

- Half the team on bookings, most of them soft as shite decisions.

- Ref blowing bang on 15 mins in the first half of ET, as we were approaching the Hull box (and after a good minute or two of fisticuffs involving McGrath)..so why blow bang on 15?

- Losing both tosses for the pens and shooting into an empty end.

- Unbelievably the Hull Mascots allowed to put Ironside off for his pen, then finally getting told to move.

What a f**king performance from the boys, proud of every one of them!

Don’t forget stopping play when we had the ball for aHull head injury, then restarting play with a drop ball to their keeper

Completely forgot about that!
Sterry was about to bring it down and whip a cross in.
I do remember seeing him talking to McCann shortly after so I wonder if it is a rule we don’t know about.

Didn’t think it was a Pen on Sharp though.

What was all that about? I seem to recall it happening earlier this season too, so must be some obscure rule.

Overall though, tactically superb, organised and hard working. Exactly how you play an away cup tie.

Street looks a great addition toe, he caused them problems all day and it created space others. Molyneux for one needs help from the other side.

About f**king time we won a shoot out.

Where around the ground is the best place to park on Sunday don't mind walking 15-20 minutes away as well

I have booked in at The Asda supermarket.
It says 20/25 minutes walk to the stadium.
Available via the Your Parking Space App.
I looked at that but when you put it into Google maps it says 31 minutes, will possibly do the park and ride

I suppose it depends on how fast you walk.
A nice Sunday morning stroll I guess.

It turned out to be an easy twenty minute stroll after a breakfast in Greggs.

Defensively superb today. Very organised and always felt we could scored on the break. Important we take that resilience into the Gillingham game. Well done to GM and his team.

Fantastic game to watch today, the lads battled all the way through against a technically competent side who in the end didn't have the minerals to win it.

GM must be well chuffed with that performance, the organisation and commitment, to a man was superb, we held them to very few chances and then rode our luck with TSL taking out their player, on any other day it would of been a straight red, we got that bit of luck and made the most of it.

Thought all the defence were superb today, with both Olowu and McGrath on yellows they marshalled their attack with discipline and patience. Maxwell coming back into some decent form had a good game along with Sterry who handled a very good player throughout. The midfield battled well with Bailey and Broadbent maintaining their shape throughout and covered the back line well. Sbarra played a great ball thorough to Mols for our goal but if he'd been as tricky and penetrating as their little guy (the no14) he would of had some game, everything we would wish Sbrrra would do.

Up top we battled hard for very little reward, Sharpe looked tired to me and struggled to get into the game, Mol's and Street both had good games, with Mols finding some form and fluency in his play, Street to me looked like what we have really missed up top, I'd play him at centre forward and let the others play off him, had enough about him to suggest he could play the position better than anyone we currently have with pace and skill.

Overall pleased to see the lads dig in when they had all the possession, GM's plan worked a treat and was executed with great determination and graft. If we can achieve that type of endeavour every time we play we will get where we want to be, when we believe in ourselves we win.

What were everyone’s thoughts on the TSL potential red card incident? Lucky?
Should have seen red ,but before hulls goal the ball did not go out and it would have been our throw in if it had of done

We played very well as a team today, concentrated and defended better, one of the few games this season when we have been consistent all the game.
Everyone played their part, and we created a great goal, show the same determination individually to win our battles and we will not go far wrong.
The test is bringing that play into our league form. I expected more of Hull, we handled them quite easily their best efforts coming from shots outside the area that our keeper did fantastically well to deal with them.
A good game , proved as a group we have the balls to do well, just go for it for the rest of the season.

What a performance, what a result, what a day!

The ref did his best to help Hull to win but we dug in and showed tremendous resilience, thoroughly deserving the win.

What a penalty shoot-out!

One of those unforgettable experiences, so glad I was there to share it with my brother and our fellow Donny fans. We were loud and proud today.

I have a mate who always says that the first team to miss in a shootout often wins overall.
I reminded the lads of that today after Joes pen was saved.
A bloke I have never met before near to us said the same thing.
It does happen quite a lot.

There was a wonderfully poignant moment today at the game . A load of their supporters started moving down to the concourse at the front to celebrate what looked like a nailed on penalty win. all of a sudden when their last pen was saved it was like a fire drill.

Yes, the mood in the ground suddenly shifted when their fifth pen went over the bar didn’t it.

Back home relaxing after going to the game and quite hoarse too. What a performance from all the team today! The whole team stood out, especially the defensive unit. I thought they all grew into the match and the 2nd half, we bossed it.

I am normally a nervous wreck when it comes to shootouts, but today I was calm, a bloke who was sat near me said that TSL would be a hero and so it was, but well done Gibson for slotting home under pressure.

I am buzzing right now and I will enjoy the moment. Palace might not be everyone's dream tie, but at least we are in the 4th round!

Edit: it was Clifton wasn't it who scored the winner, that's how much it has gone to my head

Chester conference semi final comes to mind with Jamie Paterson, I remember it well!

Another point , the whole of the north stand being empty was criminal today. We could have shifted a block or two in there without issue . Hull must be well off not to want the extra funds

What was stupid, and shows just how highly the paying public is regarded, when three sides of the ground is used take the penalty shoot out to the furthest possible part of the ground, and let them watch it from 100 yards away.
It led to gamesmanship with our first penalty when mascots did their upmost to put off Ironside behind the goal, disgusting.

It was out of order but also really funny when the two tigers hid behind the wall while Hull took their first pen ……. and then popped up afterwards.
Luckily the ref gave them both a red card and they had to go away.

It was nice to see us stick it up their keeper with his ridiculous antics throughout the shootout. Took 8 penalties of constant f@cking about before the ref decided to book him.

We’ve had 23 penalty shoot outs since 2005 (but of an artificial timeframe, but it’s one I can easily find records for). The team who has missed first has won 6 times so just over 25%.

Did anyone see what the on field fracas was all about? Seems like there was an off the ball incident which none of the blind officials saw. It’s been intimated that McGrath was head butted ?

I was in with the home fans and in a perfect spot for the penalties. Tried to keep as quiet as I could all game out of respect for the people around me but couldn't help myself when the winning penalty went in! I've never seen the seats around me empty so quickly!!

I think Ben Close deserves a mention. I'm not a fan and have been very critical of him but thought he played a decent little cameo today and that penalty.....
