Not selling on the day seems daft. Can they keep one or two sections free for walk ups.

There won’t be any extra sections available. All of the south, west and east stands will be sold out. There will be around 300 empty seats in the ss because of the 10% they have to leave free because it’s unreserved. And they won’t be sold. 
In fact, I’ve just checked the rovers ticket link and it’s been taken down so I assume that all tickets are now sold.

It’s a very rare thing for us, but there will be walk ups tomorrow that simply won’t get in. But with a home crowd probably in the region of 11 thousand, which would be one of the biggest home crowds at the km,  we shouldn’t complain.

Support has definitely improved in the last couple of years. Last time we were in this league under Fergie we averaged only just over 6k. I was also watching some of the highlights from 2012/13 recently - bearing in mind we'd just been in the Championship for 4 years and we ended that season champions of L1, the attendances didn't look anywhere near as good as they do nowadays. Average was 7.2k but boosted by some bigger crowds towards the end of the season, and the fact that we used to give the likes of Sheff Utd 4k tickets back in those days.

We've gone from offering away fans 4400 to 1500. That's quite drop and if the board do want us to return to the championship it will have to be something that is addressed.

In the 33 seasons before that we only once averaged over 6K, in 1975-76, and in 19 of those seasons it was less than 3K

That is a first generation of large growth

Prior to the Keepmoat opening, we had not had over 7K average since 1969-70. Since we moved (and discounting the COVID season) we will have had over 7K in 13 out of the 18 seasons

Great stats, definite signs of growth.  Worth noting aswell the away crowds haven't been great this season only a couple of decent away followings compared to bigger ones in the past.

A lot of youngsters following Rovers again as it's a good place to be which is what kids want.  Contrast it to the Schofield days where I even attended one game alone it was that bad!

I wonder if there is specific Info/ or Police intel that there is a group intent on doing this ? I remember Hull did this at Lincoln some years ago and it caused all sorts of grief.a group of about 150 turned up at sincil bank without tickets in a sellout crowd.

That period directly after the war into the early 50's must of been some spectacle with those crowds ramming into Old Belle Vue!

There's some ticketing issues the clubs are lobbying the EFL about. You may notice the clubs with larger away followings have only been given minimum allocations. We were obliged to send Bradford tickets back in February, even before the fixture could be subject to change by Sky.

Now, I'm sure I heard somewhere that if clubs request additional allocations above the minimum, they're forced to pay for them even if they don't sell out, whereas before, clubs could return unsold tickets.

The away end holds 3334. We've given them 1500. Work out for yourself just how big the segregation will be and then ask yourself if it's normal? it isn't. I understand the reason why it's reduced but if this was a run of the mill game they would receive nearly 3000 tickets.
