We had enough chances to at least get a draw. We need another option up front to help Hanlan though, Sharp offers nothing now apart from a card waiting to happen.

Letting Tom Anderson go seems criminal now, appreciate doubts about his fitness but GM thought he could replace with better & he hasn't

It’s one of those games Grant willl hate, imo we were the better team, cheated by the ref AGAIN, missed a sitter by Bailey ( AGAIN) and had them on the ropes, many times, but we ain’t anywhere near good enough in midfield or defence, and until that is sorted we are in trouble.

Just gutted, that was a good game and we deserved a point at least.

I think the Luton game is probably critical now for McCann. Defeat then would be 6 in a row and 1 win in 17? It’s hard to defend that record.

I don't think they will sack him as they have allowed him to make 2 signings already with more on the way

We do need an Anderson type who can will a ball in the area... McGrath looked like a 18 year old amateur against Wootton tonight - was completely bossed and seems a shadow of the player he was alongside Anderson or Olowu last year...

Not sure about keeping Anderson but clearly too much faith or overestimation of our centre halves was made in summer.

That said whenever the defenders get made to look daft it’s because midfield isn’t right and too open. Think we have both a open and poor midfield and centre halves who aren’t L1 class

Think Bailey the poor lad has to go back into central defence for next 2-3 games while the new signing arrives. Difficult though with Close injured and Crew gone.

McGrath was done like a kipper again ! Shame because I know there’s a player in there, however I just don’t think it’s currently his time, Gotts also looked well off it, other than that if we carry on playing like that we’ll win more than we lose, we go again !

Didn't offer much of an incentive to stay though did we. Hindsights a wonderful thing but we are missing his presence at the back

That's a league 2 defence at best. Maxwell has been poor but even a poor Maxwell is better than Senior.

That Bailey chance at 2v2 if only moment.

They scored 4 goals with their only 4 chances, it wasn’t a pen,
99 times out of 100 Bailey scores that

We do offer that threat, but chances for Hanlan, Billy and two for Owen were not put away, they should have been.

TBF Anderson is currently center and front in a team 5th from bottom of the division below.  So, maybe not the answer either - but, either McGrath needs to find a pair, or we need to find some ugly bollock to fill the gap...

We have a league 2 midfield and defence. Gibson was garbage again. Game changed with Clifton and Middleton subs.

If Bails had scored that chance to put us 3:2 up we may all be talking about something else now... IMO it wasn't a terrible performance and we need to go again.... 4 games at home now will be crucial..

Cant see how some are saying bailey missed a sitter, he slid in and directed it on target, he didnt miss, it was great goalkeeping to scramble across turn it onto the post.
If anything gibson missed the sitter.

Wooton did everything that ironside tried to do but got away with and not getting penalised, ragged senior about which ripped his shirt but still got away with  a penalty.
Held jay down when leaping for the 3rd.

Id say we need to learn to be more dirty but then would likely be pulled for it

14 goals conceded in 4 games doesn't lie.

We can't defend, simple as.

"if we are guna get done by a big man up top" - Wooton is a thorn in the side and in double figures so not only us that is getting done by him.

Talk of letting Anderson go....he would also be getting done by these teams and everyone would be ripping GM for giving him a deal. Anderson is playing for a bottom end L2 team who are leaking goals, why do you think he would boss L1?

Joe Olowu handled Hanlon with relative ease all night - remember 2 yrs ago 60% of this forum were slating olowu and wanted him ditched.....but he can handle our only starting striker.

Middleton came on and played a great cross within minutes for Bailey to almost score but for a wonder save. Middleton is a good winger....but nothing to play to.

Hopefully we can make some changes in Jan window to help us out.

14 goals conceded in 4 games after McCann said after the last Stockport game he wanted players to be braver and more attacking. 3.5 a game conceded.

Prior that it was 26 conceded in 19 and it was the attack that appeared blunt. 1.3 a game conceded.

What does this tell you?
