My point being, this latest variant seems less impactive from an nhs perspective, aside from this in the nhs that have to isolate of course.
Fingers crossed Billy, It'll be another nail in the Tories demise, aye?

It might be less harmful ,but it is more transmittable ,so if twice as many people catch it than the Delta variant you might have the same number admitted to hospital, this will only be known in a couple of weeks time one way or another

It may well be, but Delta is still around, and that WILL impact the NHS! The media aren't helping with this either, as all they want to talk about is Omicron!
Fair play to Andy Burnham saying the government are right to wait before imposing nee restrictions, nice to see someone not play politics with the virus

Survival of the fittest. Maybe NHS staff who are unvaccinated are the biggest problem here?

But right now Delta is alive and well and is affecting, (infecting), people. I agree about NHS staff who are unvaccinated, but you also have to add in those in the general public who, without good reason, are also refusing the vaccination!

120k cases and 147 deaths today
He might not have too ,we will all be isolating soon if it spreads any faster ,8 out of 30 staff off at the minute at work due to it

It maximises it. Either in wrecking the economy when 20 million if us all have the virus at the same time. Or in making the lockdown have to go on for longer when you finally do act. Kirk. Lockdown is coming. It's just not coming before Xmas. And it will be longer and harder because it's been delayed. If we had locked down 2 weeks ago and kept the spread under control, giving the brilliant booster programme time to increase defences, we could have controlled this. Instead, as ever, we've crossed our fingers and hoped it would all be fine. And it's not.
