Getting Omicron may protect you from Delta, this is being said by a few people at the moment and if true helps me understand how Omicron is becoming the dominant virus.

Seen omicron also described as a “natural booster”. Feels like we are approaching the end thank god.
Not much of this good news ever appears on the news apps mind.

No it doesn't and the press and opposition are again fuelling a panic this time on tests, which is ridiculous. Just like the fuel and toilet roll panics were we'll run out because the idiots will be hoarding and testing every 5 minutes.  Maybe we should charge for them like many countries do, that would stop the hoarders.

Can anyone point to any scientific documents where COVID19 was isolated? I want to read them.

Some of the press and opposition were advocating precaution in the face of a highly transmissible varient that little was known about.

Personally I'd rather be safer than sorry, than gamble with public health on the basis of anecdotal evidence.

Utterly ridiculous situation for nye. There is a town on the Welsh English border, Llanymynech,  one side of the street is in wales , the other is is England. The pub on the Wales side has to close, the other two on the England side are open. There is another town where a river bridge separates the two. Then there are towns like Berwick and Carlisle who I expect are for going to have an influx of jocks to celebrate nye. Good for business I suppose. Just seems a bit daft.

Karma is alive and well. Even if this idiot isn't.

Revelling in someone’s death? BST unmasked at last!

The true face of the left. If a nationalist tells it as it is they are racists, fascists, bigots etc, but we can see what their true feelings are when the left let the mask slip.

Sorry if people don't want to take a vaccine for something until clinical trials are completed, which is not until 2023 to 2025.

Good will to all men eh.

Also the trial data is being withheld for 55 years.

I'm not revelling in the slightest. Every death is a personal tragedy.

But I'll be honest, my well of sympathy for idiots like this has run dry. So I'm f**ked if I'm shedding a tear for an idiot who chose not to protect himself from a disease that would kill roughly 1 in 100 people of his age.

And when people loudly and influentially proclaim their opposition to vaccines and make stupid comparisons between anti virus measures and concentration camps, I think it's important to point out where their stupidity leads. Maybe that will help stop gullible people following them.

Do you have the same feelings of “f**k em” to your valued colleague that you were telling us about, you know, the one who refused to be vaccinated.

I've not had COVID so I had no idea what you were on about. I assumed it was a reference to the fact that I had a few days off from here. My apologies if I misread you.

Meanwhile, if you want something to really get upset about, look at one of Fransman's final re-tweet just before he went into hospital. He was praising Poland for not imposing COVID restrictions. Since that tweet, 10,000 Poles have died of COVID in 3 weeks.

Not by any serious medical scientist you haven't.

You dont wish a deadly invisible disease away - you vaccinate it away. And whilst most of the world reamins unvaccinated there is a risk of a more deadly, vaccine resistant strain emerging. Thats just a fact.

We all hope covid will end. But wishful thinking is not news.

The best thing Billy thinks about the man dying is he is now able to use his death as a statistic to prove a point.
Its all about being able to read the numbers you know or something like that.

What about all the people who have died after getting vaccinated, of course that could never be the vaccine though, and if is within 28 days of been vaccinated will be completely dismissed.
And there is no long term data on these vaccines for side affects, it can't be know at this stage.

It was this post you made, granted, I thought it was closer to Xmas you posted this. You forgot your kids tested positive then when I asked if your family was OK?

Well, it's finally caught up with our house. Both my kids have tested +ve. The second one, even before we'd reported the +LFT result, had received a text from Test & Trace, instructing him to isolate. Which only happens if you have, or have been in contact with, someone with Omicron. So I'm guessing someone in his class has tested +ve for Omicron. And I guess there's a strong possibility that's what he has.

Been nice knowing you folks. I'm expecting not to last the week.

Apologies for the misunderstanding Nudga. That was a good while before Xmas. Both my kids were clear before Xmas and my missus and I never caught it. Which just shows you how effective the vaccines are, no?

Not sure really, my boosted friends have apparently got covid again today.

My wife's nurse friends also got covaid over Christmas.

I've been around these people over the last two weeks sharing drinks and hugs.
And I'm still not dead, although deep down you really want me to come down with it don't you.

Bpool. Being vaccinated does reduce the probability of being infected in the first place by about 50%. For Delta anyway.

Who have covid at the minute and there all fully vaccinated, so not sure there stopping this new variant as much, but the main job is still to stop you going to hospital

I have just seen a table of the top twenty hot spots for Covid in the UK.18 of the twenty are London boroughs, the other two being Thurrock and Dartford (well nearly London).

How can you vaccinate it away when it doesn't stop transmission? and yes, I've had my jabs, so that when I inevitably get it, I'll probably be less ill.
