There are some reflections in the mirror. The window on the other side of the room and the ceiling light for example.
The real problem the monarchy has, is the reason I have never been much interested in it.We are supposed to believe the Monarch is ordained by God. God has chosen this person to look after this country. But in a nation where people increasingly don't believe in God then how can they claim to have a God given right to rule?I'm sure Elizabeth firmly believed it but Charles? Not so sure but the young royals, I doubt even they believe they have a God given right to rule.
Actually panda, it's quite confusing for young children. Many of us will be parents but explaining it to my young kids yesterday was actually quite tough and it's good that the school are going to talk about it, it's real life education for them.My 4 year old doesn't know much about death and what it means but I'm sure along with the vicar (she's at a church school) they'll explain it in ways that see fit.
Why are there no reflections in the fireplace mirror, and why are there no shadows cast from the lights at either side?
First positive thing I've ever had to say about Boris Johnson, but that was a wonderful tribute he gave in the commons.

Its probably a given that a sizable percentage on here are not over enamoured with Royalty but have managed to either stay quite or be respectful in the memory of a woman who happened to find herself thrust into a position that she was never expecting or wanting. That she devoted herself to it for the rest of her life and carried the duty out in a very respectful manner deserves some measure of acknowledgement from even the most ardent republican. To say anything contrary just reflects badly on folk who should know better and would have probably been bought up to be respectful to others.Makes us all look like very poor and boorish people. This is such a judgmental and completely inaccurate thing to say! So just because people with opposite views don't stay silent (which is what the cancel warriors want) then we've all been brought up like pack animals by wayne and waynetta slob? Embarrassingly patronising and not to mention completely wrong.

I'm all for respect but isn't this getting a bit out of hand?https://mobile.twitter.com/metoffice/status/1568167498410778631
I see the f**king yanks are windmilling inappropriately at each other over the Queen's passing....https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/jeff-bezos-under-fire-after-tweet-about-queen-s-b2163071.html

It's clearly ridiculous to anyone with any modicum of intelligence. But that means that i am automatically disrespectful for holding that view apparently.

Embarrassingly patronising and not to mention completely wrong. It’s basic decency and respect, being autistic is no excuse for being a t**tWhat if you don't respect the Queen? What if you don't respect the BLM movement? What then? Automatic being a t**t? I respect lots of other people and lots of other just causes, just not the Queen or BLM. Quite bizarre rigid thinking there. Such a lack of nuance displayed.

This thread is going downhill at a rate of knots.
