Since the Guardian (I feel dirty just reading it) is the bible to some one here.

Someone will be along to discredited that scientist.

With a graph or out of context figures again…….

One of the band of rightwhinging excusers who refuse to critisise anything Johnson does no doubt.

You might think that, and I might think that, but if you look carefully there are a few regular posters who have never critisied him - but are quick to jump on people who do. Watch your back there...

This idiot of a PM is shit scared of his back benchers, this is herd immunity by stealth
more and more people I know are getting covid and so many have next to no symptoms, does that really warrant closing down?

Quite a few business owners, resteraunts, pubs, shops, not to mention NHS staff, trains, airports etc, saying they are having to close anyway as they have no staff - or customers! The difference being during a government lockdown they got government support - now they still have the costs - but no support.

Look how quickly the economy bounched back after lockdown - the goverment were even bragging about it. They reckon it will take a lot longer to recover after this - if they manage to survive it.
the problem is you close down and the numbers go down which is good, but many scientists say all your doing is delaying what will happen anyway, hopefully we will ride this out for a few more weeks and things will improve massively

A lot of business’s have n’t got a few more weeks, they need help but the Tory back benchers are the defacto PM dictating to the puppet PM, johnson is prepared to throw them all under the bus to save his own skin

My company has 4 of our 8 staff self isolating this week. Basically means we can't do any substantive work this week.

And I spoke with our cleaner who was off with COVID before Xmas. Mid 40s. Fit and healthy. Anti-vaxxer.

She lives on her own with two dogs. She was mostly in bed for a week and doesn't have any recollection of 4 of those days. Said on one of her more lucid days, she thought she was dying and would have accepted it as a relief. She's lost 2 stone. And the dogs, who weren't fed or taken out for 5 days shit and pissed everywhere and ripped the house to bits.

But yeah. Just like flu.

I think small businesses have a duty of care to their employees. Covid or flu could have made that poor lady bedridden.
Her employer should have checked if she was OK, especially if she was unable to contact anyone.

I none anti vaxxer who's had it disagree.  Different for everyone isn't it?

But, the vaccines have made a huge difference for most the statistics are clear.

Perhaps we should be radical and scrap isolation aswell? It solves the staffing issue. Is the virus now bad enough to justify restrictions or do we let it run its course?

My bigger concern is how long the immunity from vaccines last.  As was said this morning it's not sustainable to keep vaccinating every 3 months.

For gods sake, lock yourself in your panic room Billy, don’t come out for 5 years just to be safe. Whatever you do don’t go within a mile of anyone don’t want you catching anything. Don’t worry about the rest of the world, we will just deal with things

Assuming you are a Rovers fan, Turnbull, you’ll accept there is no such thing as a cheap shot - any shot is welcome. As far as I’m concerned, not enough people are shooting, but it won’t stop me.

I've spoken to her employer about it. We use serviced offices and she's employed by the facility manager. I can give Belton the facility manager's contact details if he wants to take it up with him.

Of course, only a small proportion of people get a dose as bad as our cleaner.

Problem is, (and the problem you seem to totally disregard) a small proportion of a very, very large number of people is still a very large number of people. The vast majority of them you won't know, but they still exist.

Keir Starmer has tested positive for Covid again.  Slightly worrying for him given he had it 2 months ago and has supposedly had his booster aswell.  It's his 6th period isolating now apparently.

There was a report yesterday saying that up to 15% of Omicron cases were reinfections.

Thanks to those who wished me well with the virus.
Feeling a bit better now after a rough couple of days.
Unfortunately the gorgeous Mrs T has now succumbed (no surprise really) so we're stuck in Toes Manor with no support.
No doubt we'll get through this with some of the Dunkirk spirit you Brexiteers are so keen on.
Just had chips and beans for tea.

Hi TT.
I didn’t know you had been unwell with the virus.
Glad you are over the worst now and I hope your Mrs recovers well too.
It does appear that fewer people are becoming seriously ill with this latest variant so that is good news.
